Hey Buttercup!

Hey there!! It's Wednesday and that means a DT project by me to share with ya'll! and what have I got in store? a layout! :)

As shared with ya'll in my previous posts, my
Papier DT kit this month had Basic Grey papers. This range is rather on the colourful side, but beautiful nonetheless, and matching 'em together for layers was a tad bit tough..but here's what I came up with, hope it inspires you! ;) I hardly ever use patterned papers for my background, but I must say I do like how this turned out! :)

I also had some vintage lace which I quickly turned into a flower ;) It's nice for a change don't ya think? Something different from the usual of just adhering across the page. I also used vintage buttons for the centres..and then I further embellished with some die cut chipboard stickers of the same BG range..

Here's the layout ladies! :)

Card By AK

Welcome monday and hello scrappers. I'm back this week with another project from Papier. Today i'd like to share a simple card to make. The card size is 4'x6'.

A bit of scrappy info. I cut a cardstock size 4'x12'. Fold it in half. That's the base of my card. Get a BG Pattern paper and cut 3 3/4' x 5 3/4'. Mount it in front of the base cardstock. Embellish with white flowers and dusty attic chipboard ( i distress with ink). Finally i stamped the word 'Believe in your dreams' to a piece of 1'x4' and i used a foam dots to raised the title a bit. Tuck a pink ribbon behind the flower.

There you have it, a simple card that's easy to create. Have a good week everyone. Dont forget to check back here for new arrivals and more mini album class in the coming weeks.

More Basic Grey

Hey there! I'm back with another post today using Basic Grey's Sweet Threads line! My DT Kit this month came with alot of PPs from this fabbie line..and I wanted to try something other than cards/layouts and when right away to make this lil envelope..

All you need to do is, get an envelope and trace the shape out on to a patterned paper of your choice. After that, cut out the shape and using tape runner, tape up the sides. Once you've got your envelope up, embellish to your heart's content! ;)

Easy peasy huh! ;)

Anyhoo... here's the lil envelope...hope you have an inspiring day! :)

Beautiful Day Layout By AK

Happy monday crafters. I believe many of us celebrated Father's Day yesterday and for the special day i did a layout of my two favourite boys. The picture of my son celebrating his first birthday, it was indeed a beautiful day.

Notice the falling leaves image on the left of the layout? It is done by using the chipboard stickers as mask. I used distress ink and draw a line to outline the shape. The border is punch using Martha Stewart puncher. Using the balance papers i did the roll flowers.

Check out the latest arrival at the store and maybe get yourself a puncher or two? :)

Material lists; Basic Grey Hello Luscious Honeyed and Raddish Pattern Papers, Basic Grey Chipboard Stickers, Basic Grey Frame Stickers, Ice Stickles, Glossy Accents, Distress Ink and Mists.

You Brighten My Day!

If there's one thing I've learnt in card making, it's got to be that there can never be enough fussy cutting, distressing and..layering! yeap you read it right! Layering need not only be used for scrapbooking but it works great on cards too!

And when you have beautiful papers by Basic Grey, it definitely makes it all the more difficult to avoid fussy cutting..and layering! Here's the card I'd like to share with you'll..featuring just that..layers! :)

1) Cut out cardstock to 4x12
2) Cut out three strips of patterned paper
3) Place one strip down, punch the long length of the edges on either side for the other two strips and adhere on top
4) Tuck in some fussy cut patterned papers
5) Add on a chipboard sticker / any image
6) Sentiment of course! :)

Happy Spring Layout By AK

This month my dt kit is filled with Basic Grey Papers and stickers. The Hello Luscious collection is full with awesome spring blooms! Totally great for those who love to fussy cut like me! lol.

On to this layout, apart from pattern papers i was also given the BG Laser cut Doilies to experiment with. Although i must admit i'm not a fan of laser cut papers at first but i suprised myself with the many possibilities of using it. Here, as you can see i used it for masking combined with mists.

The flowers is fussy cut from another pp and i used 3d dots to get the dimension. Matted my photos and added sticker frame to the side. I hope you will try using stuff you dare not lay your hands on and challenge yourself to do something different.

Till next posting, take care.

Material lists;

Pattern Papers - Basic Grey 'Hello Luscious Collection' in Dazzling and Blissful
                          Basic Grey Laser Cut Doilies

Guest Artist (June)- Yuzz Yusoff

I'm so happy to share with you, the works of another talented crafter, Yusniza Yusoff. I'm sure most of you have seen her creations or visited her blog some time or other, or perhaps even regularly. Well, thank you to Yuzz for accepting my invitation to be our Guest Artist for this June. Today's her very first post for June, so stay tuned.

"Hi, My name is Yuzz Yusoff. I am a daughter, sister, friend, wife to a wonderful husband and a mother to a beautiful princess. I love doing anything creative but have found my niche with scrapping. I have been scrapbooking for almost 3 yrs and I decided to try my hand at the blogging world for the same reasons. The main one is to share ideas & making friends.

Scrapbooking is definintely my patient & favourite way to channel my creative energy and it is very much therapeutic & also this is part of "me" time for me. Our lives are so colourful & I enjoy documenting through pictures & pages, doing altered arts and albums to cherish the fun & not-so-fun 'moments' in our lives that we might otherwise forget years down the road. Nothing brings me greater joy to see the faces I love most light up when they look at my work.

I would categorise my style as vintage, clean, colourful & bright, also a mixture of everything, sometimes nothing specific. Do hop onto my blog at http://blossominch.blogspot.com to see my creative work"
