'Moments' LO by Rosa

Hi Sweeties! How was your weekend? It was fun at Papier's Spring Crop Market, although I was not well. Lucky me, my daughter was there to assist me in the make-n-take session. Nice to meet everyone again!

This is another LO that I did with the Basic Grey Curio {'Curiously Cool'} kit from Papier. More info on the kit HERE.

This is my take for this week. At first I was reluctant to cut the doilies paper, its too beautiful to cut. I cut out the middle section of the doilies paper and glue it to the acrylic sheet.

Cut out the rose and butterflies image from the packaging, added glossy accents to it and layer it with foam tape.

The word 'moments' is cut out from Slice Design Card- Words & Expressions(Family).

Till then, have a nice day and happy crafting sweeties!

From the kit, materials used: Basic Grey Doilies pp, Basic Grey Curio pp (textile, general store, rose water), Plain cs.

Additional materials used: Glossy Accents, Arcylic sheet, MS puncher, EK Success puncher.

Slice Design Card: Words & Expressions(Family).

Spring Market update

Hello there,

We had another successful Crop Market event last Saturday. A special thank you to our DT team, the team @ Papier, Nadhrah for her guest appearance and all the marketeers (participants) who took part. It was definitely a fun & busy day at the store. Well, to some it may be a good de-stressing session but I believe it also added a lil bit of excitement & mental stimulation (shall I say, "stress?") to some of us too... imagine having to complete 5 projects in 3 hours. Lol :o). To me, it was definitely great fun seeing you all and having the chance to get my hands busy again. And most importantly, I hope you enjoyed the session tremendously. Well, here're some pics in random order (guest names are not mentioned to protect their privacy ).

Sharm looking rather serious... "r we doing it rite?" 2 different sessions at the same table... phew! we managed alright
I love the Tim Holtz tissue tape... so easy to work with with endless possibilities
all smiles :o) with Nadhrah
a lil breather for Amelia & myself while everyone's busy inking, stamping, misting..etc.
pretty crafters, pretty smiles, pretty happy with their creations? ... say cheez :o)
over at the other stations
more stamping, distressing, embossing...

"okay, here's how you do this... ", Rosa

sorry if we missed out pics of you as it was difficult to take pics when everyone just concentrated so hard on their projects and the place was indeed a 'lil crowded.

Check back for more updates soon..

Till then..

'My Baby You' Layout by AK

Hey everyone, wow it was a great turn out for Papier Spring Market last saturday. A fantastic crowd and i hope everyone had fun with us. I'm glad to meet new and season scrappers and i thank you ladies for spending your afternoon with us.

This week i created a layout with a masking and rub on's background. Using a plain cardstock and prima template i rub the background using distress ink in two colours. Next i apply the rub on's randomly on the page. Embellish with fragments. I journal my page with lyrics from a song, My Baby You.

Till next week. Take care..:)

Spring Crop Market

Hello crafters,

Don't forget its Spring Crop Market this Saturday, 26th March, 2011 at 2.00pm!
Here's a little surprise for all. Guest artist Ms Nadrah Maidin will also be presenting a little make-n-take as a bonus project for all. Special thank you to Nadrah for her kind participation at such last minute notice.
Just to give you an idea of what's happening on Saturday.
Our DT team Amelia, Rosa, Sharm & myself, have each created a tag project using various techniques & mediums such as stamping, embossing, distressing techniques and more. And to add to the Spring time mood, each of the make-n-takes will have a little bloom embellishment. Thus, learn to make various types of d-i-y blooms using various materials such as cardstock, fabric & MT tape.
ps note: The tags are pre-cut using the latest Tim Holtz tag die but the rest of the assembling is in your little d-i-y kit.

Just a little run-down on the rules of the game:
* Each marketeer will be given one kit complete with all the materials required for the make-n-takes

* Proceed to the various craft stations (5) preferably limit to a maximum of 5 pax per station and it should take you about 15 mins to complete each project.

* Once you have completed one project, proceed to the next station and as a courtesy to other crafters as well as the instructor, please wait for the next session to begin to join in (new session every 30 mins)

* There will be 5 projects in total so you should have plenty of time to complete all the projects within the 3-hours Market Time

Supplies to bring: Wet & dry glue, scissors (precision scissors where possible)

T&C (important note):
1. Due to materials availability, some materials given will vary slightly however all the kits will consist of the same number of items & materials. Materials may vary slightly to the actual samples shown but all techniques used will be the same.
2. Due to time limitation & the nature of the crop, we are unable to replace any kits/materials should you be dissatisfied with the end result. After all, the idea of the crop is to share & learn the various tips & techniques and we hope that you will have fun meeting other crafters alike.
3. One kit per paid participant only.
4. No refunds or exchanges of any form for paid participation but non-attendance. In the event of non-attendance, you will be given the kit to take home and you can refer to samples and we regret that there will not be a replacement session.

Appreciate your kind cooperation & understanding of our rules of the game for Saturday. See you then!

Happy Friday!

'Altered Gift box' by Rosa

Its 22311 today. My heart goes out to Japan. I'm out of words, I feel the pain, the sadness and the lost. I've done my part by making some donation to help and support the JRCS disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. You can do your part too. For those in Malaysia, you can do so, visit MRCS for more info.

For Papier's DT project this week, I altered a gift box using the Basic Grey Curio -'Curiously Cool' kit from Papier. More info on the kit HERE.

This is my 3D version of an altered gift box. I love to alter and RECYCLE. I painted the box black & gold in colour.

I added transparency to the top part of the box to give it a 3D effect, fussy cut the pp and layer them. The butterfly is from the back of BG packaging. I apply the rub-ons onto transparency and cut it out.

I tear out the rose from the BG packaging, distress it, and glue it to the box. New addition to my handmade bloom collection, my version of 3D flower.

Close up of my handmade 3D flower, did it using Slice!

I used the embellishments that is included in the kit and the back of the packaging. Hope you give it a try. Till then, happy crafting sweeties!

From the kit, materials used: Basic Grey Curio pp (heirloom, ophelia, textile), BG rub-ons, MM gems & brads.

Additional materials used: Stickles, transparencies.

Butterfly Background Tutorial

Hello everyone, happy monday. For this week i've got a simple tutorial for misting and stamping on background. All you need is a plain cardstock, transparency, puncher, stamp, ink, alcohol ink and glue. Let me take you step by step on this simple to make background.

First you need to cut few strip of transparency, next punch out the design (I choose butterfly).

Line up the transparency on your cardstock (totally up to you on how you wish to arrange this)

Next stamp on the transparency block with script, alpha or sentiment stamp.

Remove the block, you will have a design like above

Arrange the butterfly transparency on top of the stamp image

Mist..mist..mist

Next remove and colour your butterfly transparency with alcohol ink

I glued two butterfly together to get the dimension and finally arranged randomly on the page.

My final layout.

I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial. Have a good week..:)
