Altered Candle by AK

Hi all, my last post using the May kit is this altered candle. I have quite a sum of bits and pieces and was thinking hard of an altered project that used minimal papers and yet interesting enough to be given as a gift. Finally while shopping at Ikea an idea came to do an altered candle!

I think it's a great gift for a house warming party, what do you think? Hehehe. It does'nt take a lot of time to do and all that's left is to fussy cut the design from pattern papers and embellish as you wish. The blings is glued and further heated slightly with a heat gun. The melted wax will grip it and rest assured all those wrapping wont get your blings to drop.

That's it from me for today, i'll see you next month! :)

Hello June!

Hello crafters,

Wow, time reaalllly flies. Its nearly June and its been a wonderful half year, for my part at least to have been able to work with some of the really talented crafters alongside with special you, who have been part of our in-store events, spring markets, workshops and classes. For the next half of 2011, we're looking forward to more creative flair from our contributors as well as in-store inspirations, classes and events including some exclusive workshops with our Guest Design Artists in the later part of the year. Oh! Not forgetting more newbies and exciting new goodies to continue arriving in-store monthly.

A special thank you to Rosa for her past contributions and her many inspirations which kept us on our creative tip toes. Due to personal reasons, Rosa will be taking a short break from her DT post so we're looking forward to her return when things are more settled for her. Meanwhile, keep up the great work and keep your creations soaring, Rosa!

At the same time, thank you to all for your well wishes as many of you know that I will be taking a maternity break from tomorrow, but stay tuned, as I will still be updating the blog with new goodies and our DTs as well as monthly Guest Artists will also continue to create & update.

Check out June for our special Guest Artist to be posted on the 1st, 3rd & last week of June. Another super-crafter who managed to create 3 projects for the month of June and who is so happy and excited to share with us, her creative mojo for the month of June.

So stay tuned and stay creative!

Happy crafting!

Create Card

Hey there! Today's post by me is a card using the very pretty and glitterly My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Collection Patterned Paper..I had half the mind of not cutting them up, but..a gurl's gotta do what a gurl's gotta do isn't it? *Lol*

Anyhoo..here's the card I'd like to share with ya'll..my kit this time had lotsa vintage buttons and cards..and I used one of those vintage cards for this post today..I love that lil camera image! simply gorgeous don't ya think? ;)

Just to share a few tips with you crafty friends :
1) Gesso out words / phrases that you don't want...the Gesso effect will give a vintage feel
2) Don't be afraid to glam up a vintage card further. I stamped some text images around this piece
3) Leftovers / scraps left behind by punched out portions can be assembled to form pretty flowers (like what I have done for the flowers on this card ;))

Materials Used : Ivory Cardstock, My Mind's Eye PP, Ek Success Border Punch, Bling, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type Sentiment

Hello happy crafters! Time flies when we're having fun. The month of May is coming to an end. This is my last entry for Papier. I'm taking a short break from my DT post for Papier, I will be back hopefully end of this year. I decided to take a break as I have many things to juggle in the next few months. I will still scrap, thats for sure. You can check out my blog HERE for updates and more projects / creations by me.

This month its all about stamping and this is my last posting for Papier as I'm taking a break. Presenting my mini album with lots and lots of stamping. Hope you are inspired to start stamping and create your own pattern paper and embellishements.

I was inspired by my butterflies stamp collection, so I decided to use it and create my background pp for the whole mini album. Butterflies everywhere. I also stamped the sentiments and the journaling tag.

Do you like my creation of pattern paper? Give it a try, take out your stamps, start stamping and create your own background. It's easy and fun. Till then, happy stamping!

Materials used: My Mind's Eye pp, Plain cs, Pink Paislee pp, Rubber stamps & Clear stamps, Distress Ink, Liquid Pearls, Stickles, Tim Holtz Tissue tape, Acrylic paint, Jenni Bowlin chipboard button, Lace, Sizzix Dies.

'My Forever Family' Layout By AK

Hi scrapper, it's me again with my monday posting. Again i'd like to share a layout using the May kit. A lot of fussy cut involved. The frame is actually from another pattern paper, Graphic 45 which i cut and combined with MME Stella & Rose.

MME is one of my favourite papers due to it's thickness, i always love to touch n fiddle with my layout so that's really a good choice for me. With the Graphic45 i prefer to fussy cut the design as they always have beautiful image esp with the 'Once Upon A Springtime Collection'. A lot of fairies and enchanted forest!

This piece is full of layers, those prima flowers hiding in between the flowers and leaves is actually cut in half, i see no point of wasting the whole blooms when u cant see half of it! lol.

I hope you'll have a wonderful days ahead. Till next posting. Take care!

Cards & a bookmark holder by Rosa

Hey hey! This month, its all about stamping. For Papier's DT project this week, instead of doing LO, I did 2 cards and 1 bookmark holder. I am not a card person, am not good at making cards. So here it is, my simple cards done up with some stamping using my stamps collection. Its fun to stamp stamp stamp!

This is what I created for Papier's DT project this week.

My 1st card 'all kinds of thanks'.

My 2nd card 'you make my heart flutter'. Instead of using pp, I make my own pp using stamps. I enhance the stamped image with Stickles, Glossy Accents and Distress Ink.

Instead of a card, how about giving a bookmark. This is a simple bookmark holder with pocket and a transparent cover that I created. My bookmark holder 'Believe in your dreams'.

I embossed the tranparency, punch the pp, add my handmade bloom. I stamped the butterfly image onto a transparency, cut it out and adhere with Glossy Accents.

Inside. The pocket is to hold the bookmark.

The simple bookmark that I created. I prefer flat bookmark, so I just stamped, colour the butterfly image and enhance it with Stickles, Glossy Accents and Distress Ink.

The simplest ever! Till then, happy stamping and enjoy the month of May!

Materials used: My Mind's Eye pp, Plain cs, Distress Ink, Stickles, Martha Stewart Puncher, Liquid Pearls, Glossy Accents, transparencies.

I LOVE U By Amelia Khalik

Hey everyone, it's monday and i'm back with another posting. This week i'm sharing a layout using the May Kit with u ladies. Have you tried the coredinations white wash cardstock? I got a chance to play with it here and there is so much you can do. I misted and sanded the center of cardstock to get the pink colours out on my page.

As usual, i stick to my white space and layered the embellishment at one corner of my photo. The tag and butterfly is die cut using dies and pattern paper. The roll flowers is handmade, then i add ribbons, prima flowers and Kaisercraft crochet doilies.

I hope you'll give a try at those coredinations cardstock. The texture is simply wonderful. Till then have a great week. :)
