Altered Metal Tin by AK

Happy monday scrappers. This week i'm sharing an altered project using metal tin that i purchase from the RM5.00 shop. The original color of the metal case is silver. I leave the bottom part untouch but for the cover i applied a generous amount of gesso. After the paint dried i applied distress ink and use a sequin waste as a mask.

Next step is to embellish with fussy cut flowers from American Craft Pattern Papers and my hand roll flowers  I stamped the butterfly image on a transparencies using stanz on ink and add prima resin blooms. Inside the metal case is a petite mini album. I did not attach any photos because i'm saving this as a cute gifts for a friend.

Thanks for dropping by today. Have a good week..:)

An Evening In Putra Jaya Layout By AK

Hello crafters, i'm back again this week to share a layout using my Sept Dt kit. No doubt i had a picture of my son on the page but still i think it's never too feminine to use flowers and doilies on this layout. I fussy cut a lot from American Craft Pattern Papers and cluster the cut out blooms at the bottom of the page.

I happens to love clustering and white space. The background is created using a sequin waste from one of our fellow crafters and Papier member, Chris Lim. Thank you so much for sharing! I seems to be using it on most of my lo nowadays. lol. If you find your page lacking on the extra touch why not add a doilies? Seriously, it add's that extra factor to a plain page. I had mine in distress ink and the other one as it is. A tag for the final finishing touch.

I'll see you here again next week with an off the page item. Take care..:)

Material lists, American Crafts Pattern Paper in Sunflower Deli, Kraft Cardstock, Doilies, Melissa Frances Tags, Prima Resin Flowers, Distress Ink, Mists and Twine.

Girl Mini Album

Hello scrappers. I hope you're feeling inspired after a long Hari Raya break. I know i am. Today i'm sharing a mini album that i did a few weeks ago. I've had photos of my girl printed and ready to scrap so i decided to make a little mini for her.

The album is 4.5' x 5.5'. It fits nicely in any handbags. I avoid using a bulky embellishment and instead i fussy cut the flowers from pattern papers and add chipboard on the pages. It's a simple mini for my little darling.

Do drop by the store to get your supply and create a mini or two. Take care..:)

Material lists. American Crafts Pattern Papers, Chipboards, Lace, Flowers, Buttons, Twine, Mists, AC Thickers Alpha, Corrugated Board, Distress Stain, Distress Inks, Ice Stickles and Dymo Maker.

September Guest Artist- Sandy Ang

Hello folks!

Its September already! Hope y'all had a good break and rested well over the week long vacation and for our Muslim friends, a good start to the Raya celebrations. Well, here's introducing another talented crafter, Sandy Ang, as our September Guest Artist. Here's a little about Sandy...

"I'm Sandy Ang. A paper-based crafter from the sunny, little island of Singapore. A cardmaker, off-the-page project creator and (very) occasional scrapper. I love playing with lines and shapes to produce layered, textural and often dimensional items. My style varies depending on the supplies I'm working with. It ranges from classic to quirky and irreverent. I approach each project as an exciting opportunity to try to do something new (with fingers crossed that it succeeds). You can see all my designs at my blog http"//angsandy.blogspot.com/.

I feel extremely blessed to be on the design teams of a US manufacturer (Best Creation) and three LSS: (KCK S'pore), Hobby Sew (Australia) and Artfull Crafts (NZ). My designs for Best Creation have been regularly published in e-zines like Scrapbooking.com, Scrapbook News and Review etc. Thank you, Macy for this wonderful opportunity to guest design for Papier Love!"

Do visit Sandy's blog when you can, there are some wonderful creations there and what really impresses me are the cards she created with just a single piece of printed cardstock. It really amazes me how sometimes simplicity can be everything! Here's one of Sandy's made with our little kit...

So-So Happy Card

Materials: Papers from Basic Grey, Chipboards, Flowers from Prima

Check back Thursday, 22nd Sept for another of Sandy's creation. Meanwhile, don't forget to check back for our weekly posts from Papier's DTs.

Happy crafting!
