PROJECT LIFE UPDATE FOR JUNE 2013

Hai Hello there Crafters and Friends, its Kk Aini again. My apologies I did not update this project life sample last friday. Please be informed that there will be a PL crop session with me at Papier Love, The Curve tomorrow from 11am to 12.30pm....

As you can see below, this time I used the Becky Higgins PL 6X6 pockets. I kind of like them coz there were more space to work with. Complementing the whole 2 spreads with BoBunny set of papers, rubons, stickers and trinkets... I had lots of fun and realized how easy it was, they just jive....Also theres a dash of cameo cuts.....the frames KISS and XOXO and the butterfly on the 1st page.

On the 2nd page I used the same pattern paper as the background for all the 4 pockets. See what I mean by they all "jive" together.....

2nd Page

However you could also use another plain colored paper to underlay the stripe pattern paper I used above to separate the pockets, I just slot in the striped papers at different directions.

So.... its been a while now this PL have been in the market, I still find them easy and theres a lot more to explore....HAVE FUN and C YA.....Bye......Love KK Aini.

Love You Like a Love Song - 12 x 12 layout

Happy Thursday everyone. Today, I'm sharing with you a 12 x 12 layout using items from my DT kit, which are the papers, alpha stickers and MS glitter paint in green.

It's not easy to do mixed media on a scrapbook paper since for me, I'm using lots of paints and a dash of watercolours here and there. The papers usually will buckle though I'm absolutely alright with that. For me, it just adds on extra dimension to the whole layout. Fun!

I have also used white rub-ons on this layout. So, if you need to see the complete layout, come over to the store soon. And don't forget to get your craft supplies here at Papier!

Thanks for stopping by! See ya' soon!

Map of my world

I really do love the lilybee design map paper. It made the perfect backdrop for a picture I took at Edinburgh Castle last year. It was my first trip to Europe and it was an experience I am not to forget soon.

In my DT kit this month I found a Martha Stewart paint bottle. I love these - as a base and now as a spray mist. It's simple to make and you can customise how thick you'd like the spray to be. I wanted a thicker spray so I mixed one part paint with 4 parts water in a spray bottle along with crushed glitter eyeshadow(!). The eyeshadow replaces the perfect pearls and rather well I might add. It gave the spray a truly iridescent finish. But I also mixed it up with a Tattered Angels Mist in cocoa.

Have fun making your own sprays!

Products used:
  1. Lilybee design paper "Destination Landmark"
  2. Kaisercraft postmark stamp
  3. Prima postcard stamp (Fairy Rhymes)
  4. Maya Road linen mini banner
  5. Martha Stewart white texture
  6. Marthe Stewart paint in tiger lily
  7. Prima Poppies and Peonies mask
  8. MT envelope washi tape
  9. Tattered angels spray mist in cocoa

June GDT - Sabrina Sulaiman

Introducing June Guess Designer

Hi there! I am Sabrina, and my family and friends call me Anne.  I usually go by my full name unless it is taken.  Anyway, I have always enjoyed playing with papers and scissors.  Paper crafting has always been my main pastime and I always feel that paper crafting is the cheapest therapy. I started to become active in card making and creating layouts after blogging about scrapbooking at my humble abode http://sabrinascrapbook.blogspot.com/.

I am currently on Design Team for PaperCraft Scandinivia, a manufacturer of beautiful scrapbook products from Sweden. After a while I admit I enjoy making cards/tags and scrapbooks the most. I am not exactly into complicated techniques but you will find lots of layers and pretty flowers in my project.  Also, I love white to bits. I think by now, I am certain that I will design and play with papers forever. THANK YOU Papier for having me this month to guest design :)"

Sabrina created two beautiful projects a card and a tag using Glitz Design Papers.

Amazing layers and color combination from this talented lady. Thank you so much Sabrina, your work is an inspiration to us.

Oh Snap!

Hey there crafty people! Sharm here to share a layout with you'll. This time, I'm using yummo papers by Lily Bee (gotta love the designs!!), Webster's Pages & Bo Bunny Cardstock stickers

I usually make really feminine, shabby chic projects..but my DT kit this month encouraged me to explore new horizons! I still havent let go of the layers that are often seen on my projects. Only this time, instead of shabby chic, I have clean and simple.

Materials Used:
Patterned Paper: *Lily Bee, *Webster's Pages
Stickers: *Bo Bunny Cardstock Stickers
Embellishments: *Maya Road Wooden Ruler, *Resin by Webster's Pages
Paint: *Martha Stewart
Butterfly Punch: Ek Success
* : Indicate that they're available at the store

Basic Instructions:
1) Cut out cardstock in 3 sizes, 3x3, 3.5x3.5 & 4x4. Layer them with patterned paper and chomp off the corners
2) Arrange them in random order on the patterned paper that's to be the background
3) Adhere photo, followed by the stickers and Maya Road wooden ruler
4) Adhere some butterflies and on the centre, affix the camera stickers
5) Lastly, dilute some Marthe Stewart paint in water and using a straw, tap off splatters of paint all over the layout. Then, hold the layout upright so that the paint drips down

CAS Altered Notebook

June is already at mid-month! Can you believe how time does fly?

In an age of blogging, tablets and smartphones; you rarely find people writing things down on paper. But as crafters I am sure we are of the breed who can still appreciate the lure of charming stationary. I, for one, love pretty notebooks even if they end up never being used.

There's nothing I like better than receiving a new notebook so naturally it is my gift of choice to almost everyone.

You see we all have a story;  whether or not we put it to paper or tell it to our future generations; I believe stories must be told.

Before I left my previous workplace,  I gave my Irish colleague an altered notebook. It went with her back to Ireland.Early this year she wrote to me saying. "I am writing in the last page of the notebook you gave me. Thank you."

I vowed I would make her another. Whilst doing so, I made one for my dt project of the month. Once it is done its display rotation; it will become a gift for someone else's story.

1. Cream cardstock T8-808
2. Lilybee design pink mint SSP290

Maya Road Kraft Envelope Mini Album

I'd like to share a mini using Maya Road Kraft Envelope. I love the thickness of the envelope and decided to do a mixed media background using Gesso, Texture Paste, Prima Mask and Perfect Pearl and Pattern Paper.

Due to the mini size i kept the embellishment simple using Bo Bunny Buttons and Rub Ons, Prima Flowers, Maya Road Vintage Wood Tiny Ruler and Linen Mini Banner Pieces, Washi Tape, Corrugated Board and Prima Pattern Papers.

I aways love layering and clustering and working on a limited space is fun and challenging at the same time. I'd like to have my photo's as a focus point and try to keep my embellishment at one corner. The end result is a cute little mini that doesn't take up space in my craft room yet interesting enough to share with friends and family. :)
