Happy Holidays Card

Can you feel the Christmas spirit in the air? I sure can! LOL. Christmas is one of the festive season I look forward to every year. I created a Christmas card using the bits and pieces left in my DT kit. I love the Imaginesce papers and the Crate Paper chipboards. They went pretty well together. The stripey ribbon is also by Imaginesce and it gave an interesting texture to the card too. Wait no more, get your Christmas cards ready before it is too late ok?

Imaginesce Ribbon
Crate Paper Chipboards
Hero Arts (holly leaves)
Making Memories die cut (Happy Holidays)

'My Dreams' Layout by Amelia Khalik

Hi it's me again for monday posting on another layout. This time i go for a simple and clean look. It's very straight forward. Mostly i use puncher. An interesting info to share, have you tried glossy accents on your flower petals? Why not give it a shot? as u can see in my layout it creates a water drop effects and glossy sheen. Your plain paper flowers will never look the same. If you're like me who loves everything bling add a bit of glitter to it.

Material lists, Donna Salazar Garden Journal Card pp, Donna Salazar English Rose pp, Martha Stewart Puncher, Paper Flowers, Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Buttons, Foam, Tim Holtz Alpha Dies, Glossy Accents, Maya Road Mists, Twine and Ice Stickles.

Your 11th B'day Party @ Hard Rock by Rosa

Here's my 12x12 LO for this week - I used a lot of 'clear' UTEE, 'clear' embossing powder & acetate. Slice not only cuts paper, works well with acetate too. This time around I tried the Slice drawing tip.

I used the Slice drawing tip to write the word B'day Party and then cut it out with Slice using the shadow setting. I used LePlume marker to colour the inside. I then stick it onto the acetate that I've cut out with Slice and randomly stamp on it.

The Slice Noel Design Card is loaded with nice designs + the option to do layering. I used this design card to cut out the presents and the layer for it. I emboss it with clear utee & clear embossing powder, apply some perfect pearls to give it that extra dimension and put them together using foam tape.

I did the same thing with the bubbles. I used the Slice Zoo-topia Design Card to cut out the shape and emboss it with clear embossing powder.

I must say this 'Fabulous Flourish' stamp from Hero Arts is simply fabulous! I stamp it with perfect medium and apply perfect pearls to it.

That's all from me this week. Hope you are having fun with Slice as much as I do. I'll be back next week with an altered project.

Slice Design card: Zoo-topia, Remember This, Basic Elements, Noel, Slice Drawing Tip.

Materials used: Webster's Pages (seaside retreat), Making Memories Acetate (Great Escape), Coredinations c/s, Clear Embossing Powder, Clear UTEE, Perfect Medium, Perfect Pearls, Making Memories Tiny Alphas, Liquid Pearls.

Christmas Cupcakes Layout

My boss surprised me with Christmas cupcakes last year and I thought I should scrap about it so I can remember her thoughtful gestures in this season of giving. Wonder if there are any this year. LOL! Anyway, how often do we scrap about things? I am sure most of us scrap about our loved ones most of the time. Why not try scrapping about things in your next layout? It is fun and will be as meaningful as you scrap about your loved ones too :)

Added pearls for the Christmas tree!! Lovely!!

Canvas Mini Album by Amelia Khalik

When I received my Nov kit, I was excited but at the same time nervous looking at this Maya Road Mini Canvas Album. I have to admit it was a challenge to complete a total of 12 pages! It took me several days to create this mini but it was all worth the effort. Canvas can be interesting, you can paint, embossed, stamp, mists, distress, sew on it or the easiest is to use rub ons or iron ons.

My mini album is a creation of most of the above, i will take you through some of the pages and a brief scrapping info.

Album Cover

I like my pages to look busy, you can see a lot of layering going on here, I prep the canvas by misting it and then add a layer of Doilies, Donna Salazar Pattern Paper, Lace, Key Holes cardbord using Tim Holtz Die Cut, Prima Iron Ons Pink Flowers, Rub Ons and finally the center denim flower is also a die cut from Tim Holtz Dies.

First Page

Mists the Canvas, Stamp an image, add Prima Iron Ons. Butterflies using Martha Stewart Punch.

Second Page

Again I mist and distress the background canvas, Using Tim Holtz Die cut a corrugated board and embossed. The handmade poppy flowers is from October Afternoon pp. Also added October Afternoon Rub Ons.

Third Page

Distress the background, stamp the chandelier image on a cardstock, cut and paste on the layers of paper behind my photo. Twirl a lace to form a petal and sew a button in the middle.

Fourth Page

I add an extra page by mounting a photo behind a transparency, add a bit of distress ink and stamped the transparency using stanz on permanent ink. Mists the canvas and i fussy cut the numbers from Fancy Pants Numbers Bracket pp.

Fifth Page

Matted my photo and punch a border using Martha Steward Puncher and Donna Salazar pp.

Sixth Page

Again I prep the canvas with Distress Ink. Layer with Donna Salazar pp, add paper flower on top of Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Button.

The rest of the pages are decorated using the technique above. You can view the entire album at the store. Hope this will shed some light on how to create your next canvas mini. Have a great week everyone..:)

Noel Card

Christmas is around the corner! Believe me.. it'll come before you know it..n you'll be left scrambling for cards and gifts and such *lol*..But I love the spirit of Christmas..the way the malls are all lit up and decorated with trees so high, you can't help but look up at 'em in awe..

This year, we'll be bringing out our Christmas tree again! I do hope it's not all dusty *lol* and I can't wait to shop for those cute lil ornaments..!! I've also started making Christmas cards using the Making Memories patterned papers that you can get from Papier.

Remember the LO I shared with you ladies on my post last Thursday? Well, this card was made using the balance scraps from the patterned papers on that layout ;)

1) Cut out a 10"x12" cardstock and fold it in half
2) Cut out the graph side of the patterned paper, 4.8"x5.7" and adhere to the cardstock
3) Distress both papers
4) Adhere the holly design that was cut out using foam tapes for dimension.
5) Cut out the words that form the word NOEL from patterned paper and line them up nicely on the bottom corner left of the card.
6) Using October Afternoon's rub-ons, transfer the image of the house to the card.
7) Lastly, tie up the tinsel twine to form a bow at the top of the card.

Materials Used :

Ivory Cardstock
Making Memories Patterned Papers
October Afternoon Rub Ons
Tinsel Twine
Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo

Like Mother, Like Daughter by Rosa

Last week I did a 8"x8" canvas and for this week it's a 12"x12" LO with Slice. So many things that you can do with Slice. It's entirely up to you what and how you want it. It's no longer a secret that I'm crazy about Slice.

I cut out the design from the pp and layer it together at the bottom and the right side of the photo. This is another way to make full use of your pp.

I like it busy. I can't leave the background blank / plain. It's like something is missing. I used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens and dab it with distress ink. Oh, I love this particular Glimmer Screens kit, 9 pieces in it and it's all gorgeous.

The roses, I used my beloved Slice to create it and add Stickles to jazz it up. I like it! The impossible is possible with Slice. Don't be afraid to explore your Slice, you'll be amazed with what you can do with it.

Oh, I got myself the Slice Elite. Sweettttt.... I will write a review about it. Do check out my blog HERE.
What's my project for next week? Hint hint : "clear". Till next week, same time, same day, wait for it......
happy crafting!
