Always Sweet Layout

Alrighty, I am back with a layout I created using everything in my DT kit except the red flower and the cream twine that was my own :)

Let me walk you thru how I created this layout:

We were given this beautiful green American Crafts paper called Amplified Vogue. It has embossed texture on it. Very pretty! I immediately had the idea to cut them and use them as leaves on my layout and they worked perfectly with the tissue paper flower and the background paper by Pink Paislee. Oh yeah, the yellow and pink flower papers are from American Crafts.

Close-up shots:

Don't you just love the Prima gorgeous butterfly? A must have!

Pretty lace paper by Pink Paislee is really fun to cut out and to layer. If you notice, the second line is an actual lace. Another interesting texture to go with the paper ones. Also added the twine to resemble the butterfly's flying trail. Pretty cool eh?

I ended my layout with a beautiful title. The chipboard word "always" is by Dusty Attic. I "painted" it with stickles and also used American Crafts Puffy Thickers.

Have you check out all the layouts created by three talented DTs? They really thought through and put tons of effort in their creations. Remember to vote for them ya. All you have to do is to scroll down now and check out their pieces. Cast your vote at the top right corner ---->. Click on the star of your fav DT!! You might stand a chance to win a RAK for your support.

See ya ladies on Dec 11th, Saturday @ 2pm for the Crop Market. If you haven't sign up, you still have time to do so. More details HERE!

All Grown Up Layout

It's only a few weeks to Christmas! Would you believe it..? the year flew by so fast and now..the malls are all decked with gorgeous Christmas Trees and beautiful lights aaannnd we're about to celebrate the dawn of another year together as friends & family :)

The month of December is always a month of fun..and we, are at Papier are embarking on a creative endeavor *lol*..The DT projects this month come with a twist! Each of us ladies will be competing against each other with projects using materials from a DT kit that's exactly the same!! (plus other materials like Tim Holtz Dies & Prima and Tattered Angels Stamps) Tough ain't it!? *lol*

But I'm loving it and I'm sure the rest of the ladies are too! :) Read more about the challenge here and Here's my take on the first challenge, which is to create a layout! I love simplicity, and this layout as most of you might later agree, *hehe*, is definitely simple!

Materials Used :

Bazzill Basics Cardstock, Webster's Pages Patterned Paper, Chipboard, Acrylic Paint in Olive, Tattered Angels Stamp, Zing Embossing Powder in Opaque White, Martha Stewart Holiday & Butterfly Punch, Lace, Prima Flowers, AC Thickers

Some scrappy info:
1) First I cut-off the pretty designs off the Webster's Pages PP, and adhered them to the cardstock using foam dots
2) I punched all around the areas of the cardstock that were blank
3) Stamp using the Tattered Angels Flourishes stamps and heat emboss
4) Layer two different butterflies & adhere them as well on parts of the flourishes
5) Adhere photo & prima flower
6) Using Prima stamps, stamp the journal design and adhere behind photo. Be sure to put in a tiny slit so you can weave your lace through
6) Stamp music notes faintly
&
7) Last touch would be to add on the chipboard and thickers!

* Don't stick everything down permanently so that you can add on or remove little embellishments as you wish like tuck in a piece of chipboard under the fussy cut patterned paper.

Hope my layout inspires & be sure to check out the other DT submissions and cast your vote! Two (2) lucky voters who voted for the winning DT will be chosen to win a little RAK for their support ;)

You can cast your vote simply by clicking on the vote button that appears with a star and vote title under each DT's layout pic. Take note that this is by the top right hand corner of the Papier Blog ;)

The Climb Layout by Rosa -Dec DT 1st Challenge

Hey hey! Happy December to you! As you may already know, for this month we were given a challenge. It's the 'Dec DT Challenge' with a lil twist. You can read more about it HERE. To vote for your choice of DT, go to the top page of the right column. The first challenge is to do a LO and to include / use any of the items from the list of supplies.

Am sure we all love stamps. Who doesn't right? They're irresistable. I embellished my LO with the Prima Build-A-Bauble stamp set.

Stamps + mediums = FUN! I used the mediums to colour my stamped image. I stamped the pattern onto a plain cs, colour it with the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist & Glimmer Glam and cut it out. I was inspired by Miley Cyrus's song -The Climb. I love the song, the lyrics is so meaningful.

I used plain black cs for the base of my LO coz I want the stamping effect to stand out. This is what I came up with.

I used TH Decorative Accents dies to cut the grungepaper then embossed it with TH Regal Flourishes embossing folder.

Love the glittery effect and the colour mixtures of Glimmer Mist & Glimmer Glam.

That's all from me this week. Do try out the Glimmer Mist & Glimmer Glam. Thanks for looking!

Note: Don't forget to vote for your choice of DT at Papier's blog. To vote, go to the top page of the right column.
Did you know that TWO lucky voters who voted for the winning DT will win a little RAK from Papier?

Materials used: American Crafts pp, Plain c/s, American Crafts Thickers, Prima Clear Stamps (Build-A-Bauble), TH Regal Flourishes embossing folder, TH Grungepaper, Prima Butterfly, MayaRoad Flower pin, Rhinestones, TA Glimmer Mist (Mustard Seed & Spanish Moss), TA Glimmer Glam (Tutu Pink & Copper Kettle).

"Always Together" layout by Amelia Khalik

Hello...I'm back for Dec posting. I am sure you guys are aware of the Dec challenge for the DT's. We were given a very interesting kit to work on with additional items to be incorporated into our projects, needless to say it was a 'Challenge' alright! Hehehe.

So without further delay the first project is a layout of my favourite person, yes my kids! lol. I tried to use as many items required into the layout namely Prima Build A Bauble Stamp and Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Dies among others. I stamp and cut out the leaves and flowers from Prima clear stamp on Making Memory Noel pattern paper. I used the green colour side of the pattern paper because i wanted to add a little green into my layout.

Adding a glossy accents to a stamped image add a little dimension to the whole look too. A lot of pop up dots to create a 3D effects and i tear pieces of pattern papers, ink the edges and randomly paste it across the pages, The rest are just fussy cutting.

Material lists, Making Memory Noel pp, Pink Paislee Love Letters pp, Prima Flowers, TH Tattered Angel Dies, Deco Art Acrylic Paint Turquoise Blue, Prima Build A Bauble Stamp, TA Screen Print Classic Accent, Ice Stickles, Distress Ink, Lace, Wood Flourish, Pins and Glossy Accents

P/S: To vote kindly go to the top page of the right column.
