Altered Journal

In conjunction with Valentine's Day, we DT members were to create projects using the DT kit based on our own interpretation of Valentine's Day!
To me, Valentine's Day is not just about appreciating or spending time with your hubby or boyfriend..it's a day you spend with the ones you love, your parents, your uncles and aunts, or even your bffs..! :) agreed? *lol*

So here's an altered journal I made for a swap with my bffs! what better way than to note down those sweet memories to reminisce those wonderful tea time moments don't ya think? :) I used the glitter chipboard and cabochon (with velcro for backing) as a flap to open and close the journal.
Materials Used : Journal, Cardboard, Ranger Crackle Paint, Pink Paislee PP, Hambly Chandelier Screen Print, Making Memories Glitter Chipboard and Cabochon, American Crafts Stamp, Ek Success Border punch and felt ribbon.

'Soulmates' LO by Rosa

Hey LUV! Its 15211 today. How's your V day celebration yesterday? Hope you celebrate it with lots of luv, be it in whatever way. This month is the month of love and my DT kit from Papier is filled with lovey dovey stuff ie the papers, the colours, the embellishments....

For Papier's DT project this week, this is what I came up with, picture of me and my other half. Some close up shots...

The alphabets for 'soulmates' is cut out from Noel Slice Design card and I added glossy accents to it.

I cut out the middle part of the MM Heart Doile pp and raised it up with foam dots. I also added glossy accents to the dots on the heart.

Another version of my handmade flowers (cut out from the Slice Design Card). I stamped 'love you' around the page and add red stickles to the small hearts.

The sentiment is from Kaisercraft clear stamp. I stamp it at the corner of the page and added glossy accents to it.

Till then, have a nice day and happy crafting!

Slice Design Card : Wedding, Remember This, Noel.

Materials used: Making Memories Heart Doile Diecut Je t'Adore pp, Making Memories pp, Plain cs, Kaisercraft Clear stamps, Maya Road clear stamps, Prima flower, Pearl Brad, Rhinestone, Ice Stickles, MS Puncher, Glossy Accents.

'Princess' Layout By Amelia Khalik

Happy V Day readers!! I'm sure everyone has dinner plans for tonight. Whatever it is i hope you received lots of love today. Still playing with the Feb Kit 'Catch Me If You Can'. If you have not got yours perhaps you would want to make a stop at Papier, besides they have plenty of new arrivals.

This week layout is my favourite among others. I heart the MME pattern papers so much! It's so beautiful and just like my previous layout i keep the papers as it is, not even a spray mists anywhere in the page! However i add layerings behind the photos and i fussy cut the dress form from Lost & Found Madison Avenue papers.

Part of the manufacturers label is used in this page too. Can you spot them? Hehehe. See pictures on top and below and you know what i mean.

That's all from me today, till next week. Have a great day...:)

The Early Bird Gets The Kiss Layout

That's a cute sentiment don't ya think? :) My DT kit this time came with a really cute set of American Crafts Stamps! and the sentiment..was one of it! I thought it'll be a nice change to use it for the title of my LO as opposed to the all common chipboard..fun? Definitely! :)

The Making Memories collection of patterned papers for Valentines Day are just as sweet and I cut out the little hearts from them for dimension on my layout. I simply layered them one on top of the other.

For the background, I used a plain cardstock and stamped the script at random areas using the Prima Marketing Notary stamp. They totally rock! :) The rest are basically layering and the banner is a Sassafras Lass Die Cut.

And oh yes! the angel chipboard was actually gold glitter, but I heat embossed it with a bit of copper for the two tone! Try it if you haven't already! ;)

Materials Used : Making Memories PP, Bazzill Basics Cardstock, American Crafts Stamp, Making Memories Chipboard, Sassafras Lass Die Cut, Ranger Distress Inks, Embossing Powder in Copper, Prima Notary Background Stamp

'Fun Time together' LO by Rosa

Happy Tuesday scrappers! Its 8211 today. Aha, another one of my favourite number. February is the month of LOVE. Can you feel the love? This is what I came up with for Papier's DT project this week. I scrapped pictures of me and my son, we were doing some painting, somehow we got distracted and we ended up painting each other instead. FUN! This pic is taken in 2005. We LOVE art, we love to create and its fun!

For the base, I used October Afternoon pp and to add colours to it, I stamped the bg with distress inkpad, directly stamp the inkpad onto the pp. Some close up shots....

I used the Big Kids Slice Design card to cut out the robots, stamp onto it & distress it with distress ink.

I used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens and dab it with distress ink.

I love Tim Holtz dies! I cut out the chipboard using TH Gadgets Gear dies and enhance it further with different kind of techniques to achieve different kind of look & texture.

Thats all from me today. Have a nice day, happy crafting.

Slice Design Card : Paper Reverie, Big Kids, Remember This, Wedding, Words & Expressions (Family).

Materials used: October Afternoon pp, Echo Park pp, Plain cs, TH Gadgets Gear dies, Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens, Hero Arts stamp, Clear Embossing Powder, Distress Ink.

Mini Valentine Album by Amelia Khalik

I'm back!!!! again..this time around i'll be sharing a mini album that i did from the Feb kit 'Catch Me If You Can'. Since Valentine is just around the corner, what better way to surprised your love ones with something handmade, personal and comes all the way from the heart. With a bit of effort you can have this mini done in no time!.

Basically the cover is from Lost & Found Pattern Paper, i used envelope size 4'x9' and folded to 4'x4' on each side. Covered the envelope with pattern papers and layered some of the pages with another papers for journalling purposes. There is plenty of embellishment provided in this kit, i wish i could pile it up but then again i wanted something really simple. I wanted to highlight the journalling and the photos.

That it for now, I'll be seeing you again with another project soon. Again, dont forget to grab your kit fast! Limited quantities available.

'You & Me' Layout by Amelia Khalik

Hey all. The weekend is coming to an end and it's back to work for most. Like i said before i'm posting twice in a week for Feb. This entry should have been done sooner but i over shot the days. Too much fun going till i lost track of time. Sorry for that girls.

Here's another layout, this time it's about me & my other half. Again all material list can be found in the Feb kit 'Catch Me If U Can'. Please note that only limited quantities available and you would'nt want to miss this offer!

Again a straight forward piece, instead of using the heart shape pattern paper as it is i decided to cut it in half and layer it on top of each other. I then slot in my photo in between the heart. Perfect pearl is used on the scallop border and the big flower is from Tim Holtz Tattered Floral dies.

Have fun looking, i'll be back with another entry tomorrow..:)

The month of February, is most famous as the month of love! Today's my turn at the blog and I'd like to share with you lovelies a window card! It was made using Cardstock and the amazing glitter chipboard is by Making Memories! I love it to bits!!!

Some scrappy info:

1) The window is first stamped with Prima Script Stamp using Ranger Distress Ink

2) The first page is heat embossed using AC embossing powder in Opaque and then distressed. *tip: you can also try misting over the embossing.

3) Create dimension by layering a punched out portion of the Making Memories PP onto a slightly bigger die cut and arrange some 3D roses along the sides of the heart chipboard

4) Affix the chipboard & stick a pearl brad through the middle (this is really gorgeous!! definitely a must have!)
5) On the window, stick down some lace along both sides & the lil Hambly Screen Print Chandelier

Materials Used : Cardstock, Making Memories Patterned Paper, Scallop Circle Punch, Sizzix 3D flower die, Hambly Screen Prints, Spellbinders Die, Ranger Distress Ink, American Crafts Embossing Powder in Opaque, Prima Notary Stamp, Making Memories Glitter Chipboard, Lace.

'Cherish, Good Times' LO by Rosa

Its February, 1211 @ First day of the month of love! I always think of February as the month of love, perhaps coz of Valentine's day. Any month can be the month of love, to me its February. Its everything about love for this month. Tomorrow @ 2211, my son will be 12 years old! Big Boy!

For this week, I scrapped pictures of me and my daughter. We LOVE to shop!

I no longer try to avoid using busy pp as the base of my LO. This is what I did for Papier's DT project this week. I'm crazy about stamps! This is a simple way to embellish your LO with stamps.

I stamp the bg with Hero Arts stamp, add some Prima Pearls to it. The word 'cherish' is from Paper Reverie Slice Design Card. I also cut out the Echo Park pp and adhere it with foam dots.

Love the Prima Stencils. I dab it with Distress Ink, it adds colour to the LO. Love the outcome.

Stamp and heat embossed the swirls.

I'm loving Unity Stamps! I stamp onto plain cs and cut it out. Another simple way to embellish your LO. The word 'Good Times' is cut out from Paper Reverie Slice Design Card.

Check out the Unity Stamps & new arrivals at Papier! I would like to wish my scrapping friends "Happy Chinese New Year". To all, happy crafting and enjoy the CNY break. Celebrate it with LOVE...

Slice Design Card : Paper Reverie.

Materials used: Making Memories pp, Echo Park pp, Plain cs, TH Tattered Florals dies, Unity Stamp, Prima Stencils, Prima Clear stamps, Hero Arts stamp, Zing Embossing Powder, Distress Ink, Rhinestone, Prima Pearls, Ice Stickles.
