Papier Design Team Jan - Mar 2013

Introducing our line up of Dt's for Jan-Mar 2013. Please welcome:

Aznida Razali

Hello peeps! Nida here and this is my 5th term with Papier as DT. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Papier especially Macy and RDA Amelia for still having me on board. Thanks!

I  started doing craft works since early schooling days. I don't have a real defined style. However, I do have my eyes on anything grunge, vintage, old, with lots of paints and inks on it. For me, there's no right of wrong about doing art. It all depends on your interpretation. Photography is another way for me to progress in my art as I always include them in my work. This year, I'm venturing into a new way of scrapbooking ( and less daunting!) that is the Project Life; hence photography becomes an absolute necessity!

I have a full time job with a local engineering consultant company. Crafting is another way for me to relief work related stress..lol! So, if you are like me and in need of something relaxing and less stressful activity; come join us here at Papier for the upcoming classes, demos and many more in this year 2013. Most importantly, come and get your craft supplies here at the store and you will be spoilt for choice!

See ya' . Thanks for stopping by!
-Nida-

Diana Chai

Hello, lovely fellow papercrafters! I am Diana Chai: a confirmed craft-a-holic. I discovered cardmaking and scrapping just two years ago and have been addicted ever since! It all began with some red rubber stamps from Etsy and my life was never the same again (chuckle)!

Cardmaking and scrapbooking have become a large part of my existence and is a therapeutic retreat from my busy work schedule. I've only begun proper scrapbook layouts this year and consider myself a newbie at this wonderful hobby.

I am a vintage girl at heart and love everything distressed, vintage and shabby chic but have often found myself straying towards the cutesy and colourful once in awhile. Please feel free to take a gander at some of my creations at http://www.dianachai-crafts.blogspot.com. Much Love.

Sharmandeswari Nidyanandan

Hello there! I’m Sharm I started papercrafting end 2009 after I had my first princess... Gift wrap papers you find at book stores were one of my first-est supplies until, I chanced upon a LSS (which is none other than Papier LOL..and the rest as we say, was history! :) I soon found myself joining challenges, attending crop parties and workshops AND becoming a hoarder! ;) I also began to realise that I had to deal with the reality of having been bitten by the scrapping bug! Contagious one it is too! :)

Beginners projects for me were basically punch art makes after which, I moved on to layouts, minis and altered projects using more defined scrapbooking products. My all time favorite is altered projects as I love transforming something plain into a more attractive piece.Scrapping supplies I cant live without are my cutterbee scissors and cuttlebug machine. I love all things handmade (truly, madly, deeply) and occasionally dabble with jewelry making and baking. I currently design for Heartfelt Creations & The PaperHaus Magazine. On the home front, my happy pill are my two fairies, my ever encouraging parents, sister and hubs. They are the reason I scrap.

Thank you once again for the opportunity, It's an honor! :)

Tan Mee Foon

I started to immerse myself in the wonderful world of art back in late 2011.  It was a major transition from the international IT corporate arena (which was a great blessing since it paid for my collection of tools, paint, ink ,paper, etc.) to something unfamiliar but which felt so right.

At this point, I am exploring various aspects of this art world.  I am very much drawn to those amazing 3-D projects especially those involved pop-up or moving mechanisms.  The more challenging the project, the more I am immersed in it where time stood still.  There were multiple occasions where I would work on my projects from dusk to dawn (during my creative mode) only to realize it when my cats started to complain about their late breakfast.  I love pattern papers that have strong and saturated colours both in vintage and clean simple modern styles.

My hope is that my work can provide you with some information as well as inspire you as much as all those who have generously shared their amazing masterpieces on the internet.

A big cheer's to our awesome team of Dt's. They will bring more inspirations and deliver creative projects to you. We have a line up of interesting activity for 2013. We will keep you posted! Meanwhile check this space out often. Have a great day peeps!

My December Project Life Pages

Hello! Everyone...
I am so delighted to share with you the first few pages of my Project Life for December 2012. It has been done about  a week ago, when I was asked by our RDA to show my December Project Life, I was thinking of the latest pages but ohhh boy, I am running out of cartridge and photo papers. Hence, my post today are the pages of the early month of December.

Previously, my PL was done using the 12 x 12 pocket sleeves, since Papier has a variety of Project Life sleeves I looked no further to try all kind of sleeves this time around. Below is the first introduction page of my December Project Life.

the first page, I used "Design I" sleeve

the 2nd page

My PL for 2012 was done monthly not weekly, hence I will make sure I have a special sleeve for that particular month.  Here a close-up for my December 2012.

the 3rd page, I used "Design H" sleeve and my washi tape are just perfect to hide those not a perfect photo taken and to avoid the content of my sleeves from slipping out.  You can spot those bits of washi tapes in my PL pages.

the 4th page, nothing fancy but I love to take picture daily, hence 90% of my PL has my daily routine pictures. Be it at home, with friends and etc.  On another note, 90% of my journal in my Project Life are typed using my "vintage typewriter".  I just loves the "typewriter font" but a bit of effort and kind of something different to me.

the 5th page of my PL, I used "Design F" sleeve.
A picture of my altered book pages that was done by my scrap buddies. You know who you are and thank you guys, I am over the moon with all the pages.

the 6th page of my PL

some close-up, not all pockets filled with photo but try to put some sentiments or just a simple and nice patterned paper will do.  Picture above is a simple die cut that was cut using Cameo.
"JOURNEY" - for me it means these are my "DECEMBER JOURNEY"

another close-up, I also used some nice doily and glitter paper for this as I wanna show both pictures on the right and left next to the doily represent "pictures of loves". Love to her cousin and love and bonding between "mom and her dear daughter"

That is how I do my Project Life, there is no limit - lets get inspired and start and grab your first Project Life kit from Papier now. There are plenty of kits, binders, sleeves, adds on and etc to choose from.  Trust me you will fall in love!

Lets treasure every moment and documents your daily or monthly routine through Project Life, you will be smiling 10 years later if you gets to flip through your Project Life album together with your family.

To have a look at my Project Life pages, drop by at Papier and don't forget to register for your next Project Life crop sessions with us.  Check out for more details at Papier today.

Happy Project Life-ing!

Layout - 'You are the song in my heart'

Happy Monday, Merry Christmas & Happy Holiday's everyone! It's gonna be a merry and joyous occasion no doubt. I'm excited just thinking about the holidays. For now i'm back with my normal posting.

Sharing yet another layout using Bo Bunny pattern papers, Kraft Cardstock, Prima Flowers, Mists, Prima Chipboards, Lace, Stamps and Prima Blings. I prep the background using pattern papers and gesso after which i stamp randomly on the pages. A little mess here and there and i'm good to go! lol.

I've decided to share something different with you peeps next year. I figure out that i should let our lineup of Dt's for 2013 to bombard this blog with their amazing creations and creativity and guess what? yours truly decided to embark on Project Life instead! Is that good news? lol. Looks like i have to submerged myself totally to the new task.

Will you wait for my first page? I hope you'll stay around. This could be pretty exciting. See you soon! :)

Magical Photo Frame

Hi, Mee Foon here again.   Today, I decided to attempt a little magic.  I came across this simple and yet elegant photo frame in Ikea but thought it was such a waste to house only a photo in it.
So, a little help from the magical drill and a few metal parts, I turned the back easel panel into a door.
And then, poof! The photo frame became a keepsake box.

This photo frame will house the wonderful memories of the time I worked in London.

The back panel which contains the easel is transformed into a door.

And it opens out to an album.   Hopefully, this gives you an idea on maximizing your investment on the photo frame.   My next attempt is to create some "pop-up" embellishments for my current in-progress album.  Do join me in my next update on 2nd of January 2013 for ideas to zest up the mini album.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!!!

A "Jurassic" layout

Hello there! It's my time to share my latest artwork using Papier's DT kit for this month and I have given it a title the " Jurassic" Layout.

I have used 3 patterned papers here of different designs and all are shades of brown / orange. The lowest layer was actually filled with white dots and I have applied my gelatos onto all the dots of several colours and lastly sprayed water and mix. Then, I stamped random designs using archival ink onto it.

I wanted to make the layout look "jurasically" aged (lol! Is there such word? Jurasically??) hence started to be too adventurous with my clear gel paste (Liquitex), coloured sprays (Dylusions, Colour wash by Ranger), distress inks, mica flakes and a whole lot of everything else.. Lol!

Let's just say, it's OK to experiment even if some things are totally new or something that you are used to. Add this with that and it's all a guess on how it would turn out later. I love experimenting for there's always an element of surprise and excitement. It just makes you want to create more. Lol!

See ya'
