'Altered Journal' By Amelia Khalik

This week is quite interesting, the DT's has been assigned an altered project using the Dec Kit. When i first started scrapping i was so into Altered Journal that i even sell them to friends and at open bazaar. It seems i made lots and plenty of them every week, not until i found my interest diverted to layout! lol. Now i only make them on a demand basis.

So for this week i decided that i should dedicate my altered project to doing a journal. Let me go through this simple process with you. I bought the note book from a local bookstore. I decided to go for black because one it is my fav colour, two i wanted to used a pattern paper for the front cover hence a dark background will look less busy.

I prep the base by slapping a thin layer of gesso. Layered doilies for the background, add die cut, butterflies, blings and stick pins. Prima packaging are versatile, i die cut a flower from Tattered Floral dies n added it to the cover of the journal. Extra pockets on the inside of the journal to store extra tags/bookmark. Rub ons are a great addition to the tags, it adds an interesting look to a rather plain pattern paper. Have u tried misting your seams? I did mine in a light pink shades. A cheap way to replace ribbons and the best part is you can have it in any colour you wish! How cool is that?

So there you have it. A simple step of my Altered Journal. Do drop by tomorrow for another Altered project from the dt's. Have fun exploring. :))

Material Lists, Pink Paislee pp, American Craft pp, Making Memories pp, Doilies,, Tim Holtz Dies Decorative Accents, TH Dies Tattered Floral, Prima Packaging, AC Thickers, Pin, Ice Stickles, Crackle Accents, Ribbon, MS Puncher, October Afternoon Rub Ons and Trimmings.
